Photographs
Most archive photographs have been contributed by the interviewees. Some portrait photographs were taken by the interviewer, others were donated to the project by Andy Hughes. All photographs on this site are subject to copyright.

Additional interviews
Additional interviews, initially recorded for other purposes have also been collated and add a great extra element to the project:

The Level Films interviews were initially collected for their feature length production ‘The Endless Winter’. Thank you for the interviews collected by Aaron Suppel & Daniel Satchell for ‘The Stoke film, a surfing documentary about surfing in Brighton’. The Museum of British Surfing’s archive has also been added to The First Wave archive.

Other thanks go to:

Ben Skinner and Roger Mansfield for their support for the project and for inspiring the Student Surf History Researchers and to Adam Richards, Chairman of Porthtowan Surf Life Saving Club for his enthusiasm for the project at the outset.
