Dave Friar

Dave Friar first started surfing in 1963 while working as a beach lifeguard in Newquay. He was involved in the formation of the BSA in 1966. Also a board shaper, he started making boards for Bilbo in Newquay, but set up a shop in Swansea when surfing took off in Wales in the late 60s.
