Steve England

Steve England is the Editor of Carve surfing magazine. He grew up surfing Porthtowan in Cornwall, after his parents moved down from Lancashire.

Steve Skinner

Steve Skinner grew up bellyboarding in Jersey and took to stand-up surfing in the early 70s. He set up the Jersey Longboard Club in 1991 and was President of Jersey’s surf club in 95-96 before moving to Cornwall. His son is professional surfer Ben Skinner.

Robyn Davies

Brought up surfing Porthleven, Robyn Davies won numerous British titles in the 1990's and competed on the ASP Women's WCS Tour in the early 2000's

Chris Hines

The first beach Chris Hines went to was Widmouth Bay, Bude but he got his first wave in Sennen, West Cornwall. He moved to Porthtowan when he was 19 and founded Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) in 1990.

Russell Winter

Brought up in Newquay, Russel Winter was the first ever European to qualify for the World Championship Tour and continued to compete at an international level for well over a decade with memorable wins over Mark Occolupo, Kelly Slater and Sunny Garcia.

Chris 'Guts' Griffiths won numerous Welsh, British and European titles during the 80s and 90s. Today he and shapes boards on the Gower in Wales.

Johnny Manetta

Johnny Manetta moved to Cornwall from London in 1969/70. He has been shaping boards and part of Tris Surf Shop in Porthtowan since 1974 and organised the Cornish and Open through the 70s and 80s.

Graham Looker

Graham Looker got into surfing in the mid-60s and worked for Gul from the mid-90s until 2011.

Reubyn Ash

Professional Surfer Reubyn Ash has been surfing since he was 3 and has won numerous British and European titles. Based in Bude, he was taught to surf by his father, Pete Ash.

Sam Bleakley

Sam Bleakley took up longboarding in the early 1990s and became European champion. The son of Alan ‘Fuz’ Bleakely, he lives in Gwenver, nr Sennen. He started surfing with his father aged 5.
